What is it about that Stokke high chair? Every urban mother or mama-to-be I know either owns the cleanly designed adaptable seat or is hot to acquire one. I can’t deny that it is cool. No big, clunky plastic parts or cheesy vinyl padding—just simple, modern lines that fit seamlessly into the sleekest city pad. And it’s eco-friendly too! The paint and finishes are water-based and VOC-free and the plastic seating rail and back plate (for small babies) are made from recyclable plastic. Though it’s currently not a part of my household, I’m not immune to the charms of the Tripp Trapp (more info here). Who wouldn’t want a high chair that grows with your kid? That follows your babe from infancy through childhood? That eventually becomes a spare seat for even the tallest adult? Sigh. The chair was at the top of my baby gear wish list, but I allowed myself to be talked into a more traditional high chair—perhaps I doubted that I was cool enough for Stokke.
