Walmart Serves Up Margarita-Ready Recycled Glasses To Thirsty Greenies

Think what you may of big boxer Walmart, but when the company starts shilling a set of four not-too-shabby margarita glasses (32.98) with a coordinating pitcher ($24.98) that are handmade and mouth-blown in Mexico with recycled glass, it’s a true sign that good green design has been democratized.

The confetti design-rimmed – a nice, subtle touch of non-obnoxious, folksy Mexicana – glasses and pitcher are gently priced and sturdy, ideal for spill-prone folks who would rather spend more on quality tequila than on drinking accoutrement. Mexican-themed glass and serveware can veer on the aesthetically offensive side (I’m talking to you, sombrero-shaped chip bowl) so the restraint that went into the design of these booze-vessels is just as appreciated as the use of recycled materials.

We like unexpected finds at typically un-eco stores, we like items that are handmade-from-recycled-materials (with just a splash of south of the border kitsch), we like a good deal, and we love a good margarita … therefore, we wouldn’t mind sipping out of these suckers at boozy summer gatherings – just hold the salt.

Somewhat surprisingly, Walmart is selling a a set of handmade, recycled glass margarita glasses and coordinating pitcher that keep the kitsch to a minimum.
