Vanity Fair has called Summer Rayne Oakes a “Global Citizen.” Cosmopolitan Magazine referred to her as a “Fun, Fearless Female.” Outside Magazine listed her as one of the “Top Environmental Activists,” and CNN has named her a “Young Person Who Rocks.” Here at the Lazy Environmentalist, we call her “Smokin’ Hot.”
Summer Rayne (her birth name) is a values based-super model, working only for fashion and beauty campaigns in line with her ethical/eco values. The Cornell trained environmental scientist is also a sustainable business strategist, an alternative energy activist, a shoe designer for Payless’ first sustainable line Zoe & Zac (debuting in April 2009), and an on-air correspondent for Discovery’s Planet Green.
And as of yesterday, this multi-talented beauty is also an author. Her first book, Style Naturally, contains personal vignettes, product reviews, girl-on-the-street style profiles, designer/beauty profiles, tips of the trade and tons of sweet photos.
At the age of 24, Summer Rayne Oakes has an eco-style that we admire and a maturity that we can only hope to one day have.
And did we mention she’s hot?
